Rooftop Living in Seattle Condos
A well-designed rooftop deck changes how you experience a building. Seattle gets more clear days than most people realize, and during the summer months a rooftop with mountain and water views becomes the best room in the building. The key question is how the space is managed. Some buildings treat their rooftop as a true communal amenity with furniture, grills, fire pits, and event spaces. Others simply provide access to an unfinished roof.
Maintenance is the other consideration. Rooftop amenities require ongoing waterproofing, furniture replacement, and structural upkeep. I review the reserve study and maintenance history for rooftop spaces in each building, because deferred maintenance on a roof deck eventually becomes a deferred maintenance problem for the units below it.
If outdoor space is important to you, I can help you compare rooftop quality across buildings and identify which ones have invested in making the space genuinely usable year-round versus those treating it as a marketing checkbox.
