Jeff's Take

Why I Love Showing Condos in West Seattle

West Seattle is the neighborhood I show buyers who want a genuine beach-town feel inside the city limits. Alki Beach, Lincoln Park, and Schmitz Preserve give you outdoor access that no other Seattle neighborhood can match. And the community rhythm here is refreshingly slower than Downtown or Cap Hill. Sunday farmers markets, ferry rides, sunset runs on Alki: this is a different pace of Seattle living.

The condo inventory in West Seattle favors buyers who prioritize space and views over density. Waterfront condos and Junction mid-rises tend to deliver more square footage per dollar than core Seattle neighborhoods, and the resale market benefits from West Seattle's strong identity as a place people move to rather than through.

One honest note on the tradeoff: the West Seattle Bridge closure (now reopened) reset how locals think about commute reliability. I still love the neighborhood. And the water taxi is a genuinely pleasant commute option. But buyers should go in with clear eyes about bridge-dependent access. For those who work hybrid or remote, West Seattle is a phenomenal value play.
